🐾 September JP Pets of the Month
The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council Outreach Committee is excited to introduce JP Pet of the Month, a new community feature celebrating the pets and people who make Jamaica Plain such a special place.
For September, we’re kicking things off with two wonderful Jamaica Plain dogs: Scout and Ruvé!
🐶 Meet Scout!
Scout is a lovable but precocious chocolate labrador. Because of her unbridled enthusiasm whenever a ball is in play, she has earned the nickname “Shouty Scouty” due to her insistence that the ball be tossed as soon as possible. While she loves everyone, she prefers humans who will throw a ball, stick, or frisbee. In addition to playing fetch, she loves any and all bodies of water and if there is a mud puddle to be found, she will be in it. She may be part-pig. DNA results pending.

🐶 Meet Ruvé!
Ruvé is a lovable 4-year-old Great Dane with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This gentle giant loves attention, spending time with her family, and proving that Great Danes really are oversized lap dogs!
Ruvé is proud to help kick off the JPNC’s JP Pet of the Month spotlight. 🐾
🐾 Nominate a Pet for October!
Have a special pet you’d like Jamaica Plain to meet?
You can nominate your own dog, cat, ferret, bird, rabbit, reptile, or other beloved pet for a chance to be featured as a JP Pet of the Month.
To submit a nomination, email info@jpnc.org with:
- Your pet’s name
- A clear photograph
- Your name
- A short description or fun fact about your pet
- Permission for the JPNC to share the photograph and information on its website
The deadline for October nominations is Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
Pets of all kinds are welcome. We look forward to meeting them! 🐾
