Neighborhood Council to Meet Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street

1. .Introductions of members elected on April 30, 2016.

2. Election of Officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary-Treasurer).

3. Election of Interim Chairs of the Public Service, Zoning and Housing & Development Committees.

4. Review/approve minutes of the April 26, 2016, Council meeting.

5. Announcements:

5.1     Council vacancies (Area A: 2; Area B: 1; Area C: 3; At-Large: 2).

5.2     Other announcements.

6. Committee reports/recommendations:

6.1     Election Committee;

6.2     Public Service Committee;

6.3     Housing & Development Committee; and,

6.4     Zoning Committee.

7. New business:

7.1.    Referring, as per the by-laws, to the Executive Committee for a recommendation as to amending Article 7 (Committees) of the Council by-laws by striking out the sentence that states:

Chairs shall report to the Council … and submit names, addresses, occupations, and contact information of committee members to the Council for approval annually at the October meeting of the Council, or within thirty (30) days of the appointment of a new committee Chair or any new member.

           and by inserting in place thereof the following:

Chairs shall report to the Council … and submit names, addresses, occupations, and contact information of committee members to the Council for approval by the second Council meeting following the biennial election of Council members and annually thereafter, and within thirty (30) days of the appointment of a new committee Chair or any new member.

7.2.    Inviting the Boston Climate Action Network to the June meeting to give a presentation on gas leak legislation (requested by Priscilla Yang).

7.3    Scheduling a Council  meeting to hear and discuss the draft plan released by Plan JP/Rox.  Plan JP/Rox is the current BRA-led planning process for the Washington Street-Columbus Ave- Amory Street   corridor, between Forest Hills, Egleston Square and Jackson Square. This plan will be used to create new zoning which will bring significant changes to this section of JP. (requested by Carolyn Royce.
