Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council announces seat opening in Area-A

The JPNC has a vacancy in one of the Area-A seats and is looking to you for help in filling it!  If you love JP and have always wanted to give back, now is your chance.

Who we are: The JPNC is a neighborhood organization that seeks to increase and improve communication between the Jamaica Plain community and the city of Boston, as well as other public agencies and parties.  It seeks to bring the diverse community together to make decisions and recommendations regarding development, service delivery, youth affairs, and other public issues in our shared neighborhood.  The JPNC offers the opportunity to participate fully and directly in the governing of neighborhood affairs.

Eligibility: Membership is open to all residents of JP that are 16 years of age or older.  Persons owning businesses and directors of nonprofit organizations within JP are also eligible for membership.  The neighborhood is divided up into 3 areas (areas A, B, and C; see this map for details: www,jpnc.org/jpnc-map/).  The current opening is for Area-A, and residents from that area are strongly encouraged to apply, though the council will accept nominations from any JP resident.

Nomination: The Council will be accepting nominations for the seat at the October and November meetings.  Please contact us through the website, our Facebook page, or attend the October meeting for more information.
