The JPNC has a vacancy in one of the Area-A seats and is looking to you for help in filling it! Â If you love JP and have always wanted to give back, now is your chance.
Who we are: The JPNC is a neighborhood organization that seeks to increase and improve communication between the Jamaica Plain community and the city of Boston, as well as other public agencies and parties. Â It seeks to bring the diverse community together to make decisions and recommendations regarding development, service delivery, youth affairs, and other public issues in our shared neighborhood. Â The JPNC offers the opportunity to participate fully and directly in the governing of neighborhood affairs.
Eligibility: Membership is open to all residents of JP that are 16 years of age or older. Â Persons owning businesses and directors of nonprofit organizations within JP are also eligible for membership. Â The neighborhood is divided up into 3 areas (areas A, B, and C; see this map for details: www,jpnc.org/jpnc-map/). Â The current opening is for Area-A, and residents from that area are strongly encouraged to apply, though the council will accept nominations from any JP resident.
Nomination: The Council will be accepting nominations for the seat at the October and November meetings. Â Please contact us through the website, our Facebook page, or attend the October meeting for more information.
