Public Service:  Updates and recommendation that the Council VOTE on a letter of support for LANA (the Longwood Area Neighborhood Association) and the Roslindale Wetlands Task Force’s efforts to encourage the City to purchase 104-108 Walter Street to permanently protect the largest privately owned parcel in the designated Roslindale Wetlands Urban Wild area and to create up to four units of affordable home ownership.
  • 4.2.  Housing and Development:  Updates and recommendation that the Council VOTE to submit an Article 80 comment letter regarding the Mildred Hailey Redevelopment proposal.  The project includes 234 mixed income housing units, community center, new open space and street connections.  
  • 4.3. Zoning Committee:  Report on the recommendations of the committee for the proposals of: 1): 304 Centre Street to remove proviso from previous owner and change to new owner’s name; 2).  83 Wyman Street #3 to renovate the attic to accommodate an office and a family room; 3). 7 Arborview Road to construct a 268 square foot two-story addition in rear yard with landscape terrace and a 62 square foot entry vestibule addition in front yard; 4). 12 and 29 Rock Hill Road to combine three existing lots into one 10,138 square foot lot and erect a new, four-story building with twelve (12) residential units and thirty two (32) off-street parking spaces; 5).  36 Neillian Crescent  to demolish an existing one-story structure off of the existing foundation and construct a new 2.5 story new construction addition; 6). 66 Pershing Road to demolish an existing garage, add a new garage attached to the existing house with new mudroom, finish living area in basement, extend existing dormers to create additional third-floor living space; renovate kitchen and bedroom; 7). 32 Perkins Street to change existing three-family dwelling to a two-family dwelling and expand into basement to create two kitchens for Unit 1, construct addition for rear deck and stair; complete renovation; 8). 32R Perkins Street to demolish existing carriage house/garage and construct a single-family residential dwelling.

Early voting is available in Jamaica Plain on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Margarita Muniz Academy Gymnasium (20 Child St.) from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on both days.

  • 7.1. Public Service:  Report and recommend that the JPNC:  1). VOTE to support the petition of DLS Kitchen Inc., doing business as “Mangú Dominican Bistro” at 264 Hyde Park Avenue in Jamaica Plain for a change in hours of its 7-Day Common Victualler License from 8:00 am – 9:00 pm to 8:00 am – 1:00 am; 2). VOTE to support the petition of Burroughs Street Partners LLC at 7 Burroughs Street in Jamaica Plain to change the legal occupancy to include restaurant with #36A take-out use at this address, with the proviso that the take-out use will stay with the current business tenant at 7 Burroughs Street,1R,  Nicole Gunn, doing business as “CADA DIA Nutrition.”
  • 7.2.  Housing and Development:  Report on the Subcommittee on Net Carbon Zero Construction and recommend a VOTE on a letter supporting The Community Builders in their pursuit to find funding for the upcoming phase of redevelopment of the Mildred Hailey apartments.
  • 7.3. Zoning Committee:  Report on the recommendations of the committee for the proposals of: 1). 387-399 Centre Street to convert the existing beauty salon to a body piercing studio; 2). 68 South Street to change the use to allow a tattoo studio; 3). 34-36 Rossmore Road to demolish existing building at 34 Rossmore Road and construct two new three-family residences; 4).3227 Washington Street to convert existing two-family residence to a four-family residence and perform comprehensive interior and exterior renovations.
